Bucharest, Romania - February 23, 2017 /MarketersMedia/ —

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), or drones as they are commonly known to the public, are creating a number of exciting possibilities for businesses. They have been proposed for use in everything from traffic surveillance to home deliveries by large and multinational scale companies. Teamnet is a portfolio group with significant investment in the research and development of UAVs and their associated technologies, and has predicted a 30% increase in investment year on year until 2020.

The reasons for this prediction are based largely on enterprise systems for professional use, including their own flagship Hirrus UAV. The Hirrus can provide complex deliveries including 3D mapping of environments, live video broadcast, and integration with GIS and Cloud capabilities.

Thanks to more efficient sensors, supply autonomy and stability, as well as advances in battery and solar capabilities, drones may soon be able to be used in a huge range of commercial applications, and Business Insider has already estimated more than 800,000 will be in use commercially by 2021. Teamnet has made their market estimation based on their own advances, as well as those in the wider market.

A spokesperson for Teamnet explained, “The Teamnet Hirrus UAV is already capable of amazing things, and we will continue to push back its boundaries year on year. At the same time, businesses are already waking up to the huge potential and upside of these unmanned craft in collecting and reporting valuable data efficiently. The UAV market right now is small, but the potential is huge, and the technology is already capable of fulfilling much more than it is currently being used for. That gap is what we predict will begin to close, and that’s why we predict an annual increase of 30% until 2020.”

About Teamnet: Teamnet believe technological infrastructure underpins the evolution of society. Every day, they produce technological infrastructure at regional levels, while developing large-scale projects reaching the whole of society. They deliver innovation to areas where clients are already active, while developing new technological infrastructure at points where it is missing.
