Get to know Neurologist Dr. Steven Trobiani, who serves patients in Maple Grove, Minnesota.

New York City, Oct 1, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Dr. Trobiani, a renowned neurologist, has spent the past three decades evaluating and managing headache and back pain. He owns and operates his own private neurology practice - Northstar Pain Care & Neurological Clinic - in Maple Grove, Minnesota.

There, he takes a patient-oriented approach to pain management. He listens carefully and thoroughly examines all three pain generators - neurological, orthopedic, and soft tissue - so that he can accurately identify the source of the pain and eliminate it with a program customized to each individual. His practice has an emphasis on injuries to the cervical, thoracic, lumbar regions and peripheral nerves.

Born into a middle-class family in Chicago, Illinois in 1950, Dr. Trobiani became intrigued equally by medical science and literature from an early age. He majored in biology but minored in English literature and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University in 1972. He obtained his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 1976 and served his internship at St. Louis University from 1976 to 1977. He then served as a general medical officer in the U.S. Army from 1977 to 1980, attached initially to an armored cavalry squadron as a squadron surgeon before being assigned command of the 24th medical detachment in Schweinfurt, Germany.

Upon leaving the military, he decided to specialize in neurology and was accepted for residency training at Yale University. He trained at Yale from 1980-1983 and served as the chief resident for the neurology service during his last year.

A member of the American Academy of Neurology, the doctor is board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.

Attributing his success to being stubborn and tenacious, Dr. Trobiani wrote a book titled "Sustainable Healthcare Reform: Harnessing the Power of Capitalism to Fund Our Social Needs." It is about bringing the stakeholders--employers, healthcare professionals, and healthcare consumers--together. It is about utilizing the combined strength of their voices to bring about positive change to the policies governing healthcare to the benefit of the stakeholders.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient's mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.

An authority in his field, Dr. Trobiani has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors throughout his extensive career. These include: Patients' Choice Award (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2013, 2014, 2015, 2018), Top 10 Doctor - State (2014), On-Time Doctor Award (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), and Patients' Choice 5th Anniversary Award (2018).

In November 2002 Dr. Trobiani was appointed by the Assistant Commissioner for the Minnesota Department of Health to the Health Care Work Group for The Minnesota Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Initiative.

From 2002 to 2004 Dr. Trobiani was hired by Pfizer as a medical community liaison to present seminars on the use of Celebrex in pain management.

In 2004 Dr. Trobiani's practice was selected for Phase IV clinical studies for the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knees in conjunction with Johns Hopkins University Medical School.

In 2011 Dr. Trobiani was selected as a member of the Medical Review Board by Nucleus Medical Media.

Dr. Trobiani has done multiple seminar presentations for the Minnesota Institute for Legal Education and the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association.

‘Less than a minute’: Hong Kong travellers praise Japan’s new tax refund at airports

Hong Kong tour groups returning from Japan have praised a smooth roll-out of the country’s new tax refund arrangement that requires travellers to complete refund procedures at airports or ports rather than at shops. Under the “pay first, refund later” scheme, which took effect on Sunday to curb illicit domestic reselling and tax evasion, international tourists must now pay the 10 per cent consumption tax upfront at the counter. Travellers are now required to complete customs verification before...

Could a midterm defeat tame Trump? Not on foreign policy, Chinese experts say

A potential lame-duck phase may not deter US President Donald Trump from pursuing more “transactional” or “risky” foreign policy moves after the midterm elections, Chinese experts warn, while casting doubt on expectations of a powerful Democratic wave. Amid a season of high-stakes contests that could reshape global politics, the US vote on Tuesday stands out. The election, which will determine who takes control of the US Congress, could result in Trump and his fellow Republicans no longer...

Hanwha bags 1st US Navy shipbuilding order

Hanwha Group has won its first contract to build a warship for the United States Navy after its acquisition of Philadelphia-based Philly Shipyard in December 2024, marking a tangible step forward in the Korea-U.S. shipbuilding cooperation initiative known as Make American Shipbuilding Great Again (MASGA). POSCO union to vote on tentative wage deal this week

Unionized workers at South Korean steelmaker POSCO will vote this week on a tentative wage agreement reached with management, the union said Sunday. The two sides have held 30 rounds of negotiations since June, while the union staged two partial strikes in September to demand higher wages and bonuses. Last week, the union said it would launch an "indefinite" strike from Nov. 2 unless the company presented an acceptable wage offer. On Friday, the union reached a tentative agreement on the company's latest offer, which includes a 2.6 percent increase in base pay, a one-off payment of 6 million won ($4,500) and improved benefits. Union members are scheduled to vote on the deal on Saturday. The union had initially demanded a 7.1 percent increase in base pay, a performance bonus equivalent to 600 percent of base pay, 50 company shares per worker and a holiday bonus equivalent to 200 percent of base pay. In addition to higher wages, the union cited staffing shortages and aging facilities as factors that could heighten the risk of workplace accidents. Management's previous offer included a 2.5 pe
