Over the past several decades, thermal energy storage has been successfully applied in thousands of commercial installations to help businesses reduce cooling installation size by 50% and optimize initial investment and operational costs.
Ice energy storage acts as a building’s storage for air conditioning systems. Using ice based thermal energy storage allows businesses to shift all or a portion of their cooling needs to off-peak, evening hours.
When used as part of the cooling strategy in a building, ice storage can reduce the cooling installation by 50% in many cases. With Air2O, a base chiller runs 24 hours a day, meaning that cooling can be supplied even in case of electricity shortage.
Ice thermal storage can be used with Air2O Cooling by utilizing a unique combination of indirect and direct evaporative cooling to achieve 80% energy, thus saving over Dx compressor based systems. Air2o’s unique ability to become hybrid and incorporate traditional Dx or chilled water cooling means that Air2O can be employed by businesses all over the world to provide energy efficient cooling without compromise.
Air2O Cooling LLC utilizes the patented IceOVap solution which combines the benefits of ice storage with the Air2O evaporative cooling technology. More information can be found at https://www.air2o.com/products/iceovap/
