New York City, New York Aug 25, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - A skilled orthodontist, Dr. Lockett is the Owner and Operator of Lockett Orthodontics in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

There, she offers a full range of orthodontic treatments including, but not limited to, traditional braces, clear ceramic braces, lingual braces, Invisalign®, functional appliances, and retainers. Her goal is to help each of her patients enjoy a healthier and happier life with a beautiful smile.

Having always aspired to enjoy life and family while creating lasting friendships and serving her community, Dr. Lockett herself needed orthodontic treatment as a young child, which further fueled her interest in the field of dentistry. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree, Certificate in Dental Hygiene from the University of Detroit Mercy, and her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington D.C.

Furthering her training, she performed her General Practice Residency in Dentistry at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in New York. She then earned her Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the Howard University College of Dentistry.

Before realizing her desire to become an orthodontist, Dr. Lockett studied multiple areas of dentistry. As a dental hygienist, she was able to forge connections with patients while also teaching them the values of proper dental hygiene and how it relates to overall health. She was then able to practice as a dentist and provide complete dental care to her patients.

As she arrived at her dream profession of being an orthodontist, Dr. Lockett was able to combine all her dental knowledge to provide a comprehensive approach to her orthodontic patients.

Among her professional affiliations, she is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, the Colorado Springs Dental Society, and the Colorado Springs Orthodontic Study Club.

Her service organizations include Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Iota Beta Omega Chapter; The Links, Inc., Colorado Springs (Colorado) Chapter; and Jack and Jill of America, Inc., Greater Pikes Peak Chapter.

Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis, prevention, and correction of malpositioned teeth and jaws. Orthodontists are responsible for identifying problems with the positioning of a patient's teeth and with their oral development. They utilize the most advanced procedures and equipment available to ensure that every patient achieves a healthy and beautiful smile.

Community service is an important aspect of Dr. Lockett's personal life. Mentoring youth, promoting health awareness, and uplifting the Colorado Springs community is her passion.

Family is the core of her heart. She is happily married with two wonderful children and two spunky dogs.
