Philadelphia Out Of State Apartment Moving With No Elevator, New Inventory Guide

Oct 18, 2023

Taking photos of each item and grouping them by room are just two of the tips included in a new report on "How to Make a Moving Inventory in 6 Steps," announce Movers.com

North Brunswick Township, United States - October 18, 2023 /PressCable/ —

Movers.com is announcing a resource designed to help Philadelphia homeowners create a complete inventory for their out-of-state apartment moves, covering everything from which columns to include in an inventory, to how to organize items to minimize handling and stair fees.

The full guide can be found at https://www.movers.com/moving-guides/how-to-make-a-moving-inventory-in-6-steps.html

The new resource addresses one of the most common concerns of long-distance movers: their items going missing during the move. Whether due to inadequate shipping management or outright stolen, missing items are common - but they should be covered by the mover’s insurance, provided that owners can prove that those items existed in the first place, explains Movers.com.

Without an adequate inventory, however, most homeowners are left with no legal recourse when their items are missing - and the new guide aims to help homeowners make a thorough inventory to minimize this risk.

The report recommends inventorying each room separately, and breaking down each entry into several columns, including make, model, and serial number, current condition, market value, and current and destination rooms.

Setting up a digital inventory is essential. “You should always back up your physical inventory by recording the information in a digital moving inventory,” explains the report. “Digital moving inventories are easier to create and more convenient to access. You can use an app on your smartphone or make a shareable Google doc.”

Digital inventories can then easily be linked to digital photos of each item - an essential part of making an inventory.

Once homeowners have double-checked all items to make sure they’re all included in the inventory, Movers.com recommends grouping the items and placing them near the door, to minimize handling fees. Owners of apartments in buildings with no elevators will also need to account for extra stair fees, so, if possible, the report suggests bringing all items to the first floor before the moving estimate.

For homeowners looking for an all-inclusive moving solution, Movers.com has created a platform allowing customers to get multiple quotes from pre-screened, fully-insured Philadelphia moving companies.

Language matters in Hong Kong’s birth rate debate, not just money

When Hong Kong debates how to raise its birth rate, the conversation usually revolves around money: bigger baby bonuses, tax concessions, housing support, cheaper childcare and so on. These economic measures are necessary. Lowering the cost of raising a child removes some real and immediate barriers. However, there is another, lesser-known factor that works more subtly and implicitly. It comes not from economics but from the structure of the language or languages we speak each day. Consider a...

Landmark China trial gets 84% efficacy in treating cancer with cue from waste water tech

For patients with advanced, metastatic cancer that has progressed despite systemic therapy – options remain critically limited. Now, Chinese scientists are pointing to an unconventional therapeutic agent – the element iron. This idea originated in industrial waste water treatment: iron can react with hydrogen peroxide to generate hydroxyl radicals, which degrade various organic and toxic molecules in waste water. Chinese scientists wanted to treat malignant tumours the way they treat waste water...
