Montreal Custom-Shaped Personal Photo Velvet Pillows: Design Service Updated

Feb 7, 2024

Montreal pillow manufacturer Pilloo recently updated its pillow design service, which enables customers to create one-of-a-kind throws featuring prints of personal photos.

Montréal, Canada - February 7, 2024 /PressCable/ —

The updated design service, which is available on Pilloo’s website, requires customers to upload a personal photo that is then transferred onto the fabric of the pillow using an advanced sublimation technique.

More details can be found at https://www.pilloo.ca

Programmed to be quick and easy to use, the updated service enables customers to create huggable memories from the comfort of their own homes. “After a customer uploads a personal photo to the service, it generates a mock-up of the pillow that they can edit and adjust until they are satisfied,” explained a spokesperson for Pilloo. “Once satisfied, they just have to select the shapes, sizes, and quantity of pillows they want and submit their order.”

In terms of shapes, Pilloo gives customers the choice between traditional shapes, like squares, circles, and triangles, or a custom shape, which in most cases, will be the shape of the subject in the photo. For sizes, they are a bit more limited, offering small (16”), medium (24”), large (36”), and life-size (60”).

The pillows are all cut and sewn by hand at Pilloo’s Montreal factory using high-quality materials and tools. For the shells of the pillows, they opt for a combination of soft velvet and wrinkle-free polyester, while for the stuffing they use a poly-fil.

All of Pilloo’s products are made with consideration for both the customer and the environment. The fabrics and filling materials are all eco-friendly, hypoallergenic, and anti-microbial, and the inks and resins utilized in the printing process are non-toxic.

Customers can get all sorts of personal photos printed on the pillows, from family portraits and graduation snaps to selfies and pictures of pets. The pillows make ideal gifts for holidays, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and reunions.

“Pilloo recently turned one of my all-time favourite photos of my dog into a custom pillow for me and I couldn’t be happier with the results,” said a satisfied customer. “The velvet that they used for the pillow is incredibly soft and the print could not be clearer. Now I can admire my furry friend even when he’s not in the same room as me.”

Overseas piracy of K-content nears 500 mil. cases in 2025: lawmaker

The number of Korean content that was illegally distributed overseas reached nearly 500 million cases last year, the highest number since 2022, a lawmaker said Monday. The number of reported cases hit 493.6 million in 2025, up 19.2 percent from the previous year, according to the data submitted to Rep. Jeong Jun-ho of the ruling Democratic Party of Korea by the Korea Copyright Protection Agency. The figure is the highest since 477.1 million in 2022, when the agency began compiling relevant data. Of the total, piracy cases involving webtoons accounted for the majority at 66.5 percent, followed by films and broadcasts at 33.5 percent. By language, 46.6 percent of the reported cases involved content distributed in English, followed by Chinese at 20.4 percent and languages of Southeast Asian nations at 15.7 percent. While the number of content illegally distributed in English fell 17 percentage points on-year, the portion of those distributed in languages of Southeast Asian and European nations, such as Vietnamese, Thai, Spanish and French, rose. China’s factories leaping straight into agentic AI and taking it global: Black Lake CEO

China’s manufacturing sector is leapfrogging straight into the era of agentic artificial intelligence and is now exporting that playbook to global supply chains, according to the CEO of Black Lake, a Chinese provider of cloud-based AI tools for factories. “Just as China skipped credit cards and jumped directly to mobile payments, many factories are skipping full traditional digitalisation and jumping directly to AI agents,” Zhou Yuxiang said in a recent interview with the South China Morning...

‘Just a little spark’: disability advocate on inclusion, belonging in Hong Kong

Greater awareness of disability in Hong Kong has not necessarily made it easier for people with disabilities to find work, according to advocate Faride Shroff, who says tighter corporate budgets and a difficult job market have made the next stage of inclusion more challenging. Shroff, founder of SENsational Foundation, said employers that recruit people with disabilities also need to provide guidance, suitable workplace arrangements and roles that match individual strengths. “Every person has...
