New York City, New York Feb 15, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - A highly accomplished, award-winning child and adolescent psychiatrist, Dr. Jones provides care to children and adolescent patients with mental health problems as well as those who are or have been involved with the law and family court. As a lifelong champion for children and a mother herself, her inspiration comes from a place of service, acceptance, and understanding, which is why she founded Empowerment Changes Everything LLC, to change the lives of children and teens for the better with therapy and guidance.

Specializing in autism and child legal concerns, she provides treatment for children and their families to achieve and maintain mental wellness. Since she is from Brooklyn, she has a heart for children and adolescents who have been impacted by urban trauma. She provides motivational speeches to all types of audiences to empower kids with knowledge of entrepreneurship, vision, and grit (passion & perseverance).

As the daughter of West Indian parents, Dr. Jones had always been raised to value academic achievement. After graduating from South Shore High School, she attended Penn State University on a full scholarship as an honors student where she received her Bachelor of Science degree. She then went on to attend medical school at Penn State College of Medicine where she discovered she had a tremendous interest in psychology, a field she never expected to love.

Upon graduation, she performed her residency in psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and her fellowship in forensic psychiatry at Montefiore Medical Center. She then completed an additional fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center.

With an authentic ability to empathize with others, Dr. Jones is board-certified in forensic psychiatry & psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.

Among her professional affiliations, she is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law.

Locally, Dr. Jones is affiliated with Bronx Psychiatric Center, NYC Health + Hospitals / Kings County, Montefiore Medical Center Wakefield Campus, and Montefiore Weiler Hospital.

Child and adolescent psychiatry, also known as pediatric psychiatry, is a branch of psychiatry that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders in children, adolescents, and their families. A child and adolescent psychiatrist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of thinking, feeling, as well as behavior affecting children, adolescents, and their families.

Since embarking upon what has been an illustrious and fulfilling career, Dr. Jones has published and presented her original research at a variety of symposiums and professional society associations. She has also shared her insight as a teacher and lecturer and provided expert testimony as a forensic consultant in family court and state mental hygiene cases.

Is China a Russia-allied Arctic threat to Europe or a potential polar partner?

Europe should work with Beijing to develop shipping through the Arctic rather than trying to advance its transatlantic security alliance by framing China as a threat linked to Russia. That was the assessment of Chinese analysts following the release of the European Union’s Arctic policy on Tuesday. In addition to identifying Russia as its main threat, the policy warns of Beijing’s growing strategic ambitions in the European Arctic through its deepening alignment with Moscow. “With our new...

China’s offshore tax crackdown could inadvertently fuel a digital dollar boom

From October 22, China’s grace period for the disclosure and settlement of certain offshore-trust tax liabilities ends. For the Chinese government, this deadline highlights its desire to affirm control over capital outflows, while for Chinese high-net-worth families, it serves as a reminder that it is now harder to keep international assets beyond the reach of the government. The deadline sits against the backdrop of China tightening scrutiny around cryptocurrency, stablecoins and real-world...
