Hunter Graphics is now offering a free analysis of website design features that affect marketing and Google ranking for local businesses.

Brian Hunter of Hunter Graphics has begun to provide free consultations with website owners in the Lehigh Valley and Poconos about the design aspects of their websites. This service helps website owners understand how website design impacts bounce rates and SEO ranking and shows them improvements that lead to more customers and sales.

“It’s sad, but most web owners don’t really know why their sites aren’t getting them business,” says Brian Hunter. “The web is very competitive and good design makes a huge difference in a businesses’ bottom line.” Hunter has over 30 years experience in commercial graphic design working with a wide range of clients in all types of businesses from local stores to regional chains to ecommerce to retail.

Hunter points out that there are a number of design areas where most websites fall short causing them to lose business to their competition. Each design parameter has a marketing objective, and when well coordinated, they help turn a website into a powerful engine to generate business and more income.

“It is just not enough to just have pretty pictures,” states Hunter. Some the the site design aspects Hunter scrutinizes in his reviews are the ease of navigation, the selection and placement of content, and the appropriateness of color and image choices for the particular type of business. Any and all of these will affect the richness of customer experience and either increase or decrease the bounce rate. Bounce rate is basically the amount of time a viewer will remain on the site without quickly clicking away. Hunter adds, “Good design will drive customers deeper into the website. The more time they spend, the more likely it will result in a call or a sale.”

Almost any search on the internet will result in hundreds of thousands to millions of results. With so many available choices, many websites are rarely if ever discovered, and only sporadically visited by these potential customers in search of the businesses’ available products or services. If a prospective customer does click through to a site, they need to see something that engages their interest within 3 seconds or they click away. For this, the overall design and optimal placement of visually captivating content is a vital.

With the overwhelming majority of searches now done on mobile devices, website owners now have to consider how effectively their sites translate on tablets and smartphones. “Google actually downgrades sites that aren’t mobile friendly” says Hunter. It also affects how to plan the site layout optimize the most important visual real estate. “If someone is wondering why they aren’t getting inquiries or business from their website, or they want to get more, I can help make that happen.”

How a Democratic-controlled Congress could reshape US policy on China

A Democratic takeover of either chamber of the US Congress could bring tougher scrutiny of President Donald Trump’s dealings with Beijing, even as lawmakers are likely to maintain a broadly hawkish stance towards China, analysts said. A change in control could shift the emphasis of congressional oversight, with the Democratic Party seeking greater accountability for the administration’s China policy after Trump’s Republican Party largely gave him room to manoeuvre, said Sarah Trister, a former...
