United States - December 6, 2022 —

Hart Pearson Sebastian Cunningham, a Tennessee-born entrepreneur, and philanthropist, has announced his campaign to become the President of the United States in the upcoming 2024 elections. Beginning his campaigning in Texas, through the cities of Austin and Dallas, he aims to communicate his message of equality, progress, and purpose for the people of the USA far and wide.
For Cunningham, there are five key commitments in his campaign. The first is to lower taxes in a way that ensures that lower-income families and workers don’t end up footing the bill for corporations and wealth owners. The second is equality across all lines, racial, gender, economic, and other. The third is a dedication to the environment and sustainability, making sure that the government is working with scientists and the right organizations to tackle the biggest challenge of our age. The fourth is to ensure that workers are paid their fair share and get to keep more of it to sustain the families and economies all across America. Lastly, Cunningham is looking to increase the investment and focus on AI, artificial intelligence, making use of this thriving new field to make the US a technological powerhouse.
Cunningham has already lived his messaging, such as working as a long-time philanthropist, as well as using his social media platform to bring attention to environmental issues like the increasing risk of water stability and the CO2 monitoring highlighting just some of the risks to our shared future.
As an entrepreneur, having successfully created a digital currency for teens, launching three additional businesses, and being the only person named a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Technology three times, Cunningham also understands the nature of business and capitalism. However, in seeing that his successes only highlighted the struggles of others, he began to question the relationship between cutthroat capitalism and effective democracy.
All of these experiences in philanthropy, business, and in being raised in a church-going family by a father who marched with Martin Luther King Jr., have shaped a strong set of principles in Cunningham and its those principles that have urged him to launch his presidential campaign as a Democratic candidate with a focus on ending poverty, caring for the environment and restoring unity among the people of the United States in 2018.

Australia’s preparations for a possible conflict with China reflect “a relatively superficial understanding”, argues prominent economist John Edwards. Europe, Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia and India, he notes, are not preparing for such a conflict. Why should Australia? Edwards, a former senior economic adviser to former Labor prime minister Paul Keating, makes the observation in a Lowy Institute paper released in October and in a newspaper interview. Instead, he sees US-China rivalry as a...
