The updates to the company’s outdoor water activities have been developed to adhere to and respect the most recent government guidelines in regard to the pandemic.
Founded in 2011, Independent Adventure expanded its services and began operating at the Talkin Adventures venue in 2017, offering visitors boat hire and watersports activities on the nearby lake. The company works hard to ensure that every activity meets the high expectations and needs of each group, and all packages are tailored to requirements.
Outdoor water activities from the company include canoeing, kayaking and stand up paddleboarding (SUP) with professional instructors who understand how to keep visitors safe, put them at ease, and make sure they have fun.

SUP lessons from Talkin Adventures offer a thorough introduction to the sport using inflatable paddle boards of the highest quality. Ideal for families and small groups, visitors will be taught the basics of how to stay afloat, and soon find themselves out on the Talkin Tarn water, standing strong.
For those who prefer kayaking, the company employs stable, sit-on-top kayaks for ease of use and maneuverability, offering taster sessions or small instructor-led groups to learn the sport. Sessions are tailored, and often include additional challenges to teach visitors techniques for improvement, and to build confidence.
Home to various rowing and sailing clubs, Independent Adventure also caters to more experienced kayakers, offering progressive coaching through British Canoeing courses. Located by the lush woodlands of Talkin Fell, many visitors choose to hire a boat and enjoy the lake before taking walks through the forest and fell. The company offers all-day parking, a cafe and changing facilities which makes it an ideal place for families to visit for a full day trip.
With the latest announcement, Independent Adventure Ltd continues to invest in offering safe and fun outdoor activities and watersports to visitors to the Brampton and Haltwhistle area, led by experienced professionals.
