Boozy Ballz is excited to announce its official entrance into the food and snack industry in Minneapolis.
Originally launched at a local MomBoss 5k, this sweet treat made its official and colorful entrance at the much-acclaimed Pinner’s Convention in early June at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Setting itself apart as a delicious treat that’s slightly naughty, these ball shaped beauties are nothing short of amazing. Flavors based on popular mixed drinks and cocktails like Margaritas, Lemon Drop Martinis and Bourbon mixed with pecans, these ingenious snacks let you indulge in a real treat in the middle of your day.
The company was founded earlier in the Spring by two hardworking female Minnesota entrepreneurs. Collaboration on a different project in the food space caused a lively discussion which resulted in the creation of Boozy Ballz. “We were working on a recipe for portable protein snacks and I said, ‘You know what’s missing? Booze!’” says co-owner Nicole Eveleth. Within moments the dynamic duo had decided on a name, purchased a domain and was off and running with flavor ideas.
Snider owns another company which sells all natural, gluten free, grain free nut snack mixes so it was important to both owners that the Boozy Ballz include some quality ingredients. “We wanted the Boozy Ballz to taste great, but also give you some energy to keep you going with your day.”
A fun hostess gift, birthday present or popular contribution to a potluck, Boozy Ballz come in several serving size options. The most popular package contains 8 balls – two of each flavor. Speaking of packaging, theirs is beautiful and further adds to the celebration of the snacking experience. Not only is the treat delicious, but the packaging feels luxurious.
New customers consistently ask, “Is there really alcohol in the Boozy Ballz?” to which the owners hearty response is “YES!” “The Boozy Ballz are not a baked product, therefore the alcohol included in the recipe maintains its flavor and potency. You smell, taste and feel the effects of the liquid ingredient.” Labeled as an ADULT SNACK, the treats are for adult consumption and not to be shared with children under the age of 21. Although you would need to eat several Boozy Ballz to feel the effects of the alcohol, the company advises that you please snack responsibly.
Boozy Ballz occupy an interesting space in the market as they are both a drink and a snack all at the same time. Much discussion was had within the liquor store community, food lawyers and even some distributors of fine wines and spirits as to whether the snacks could be sold in liquor stores or grocery stores. Minnesota legislation and “blue laws” regulates and prohibits the sale of alcohol in grocery stores and food in liquor stores unless it enhances the drinking experience. The company is still seeking clarity on the issue, but in the meanwhile, the product can be found online, at local festivals and soon in retail locations.
