The AI tool, still in development, was presented by Dr. Anastasios Vekris at a September 8, 2026 workshop in Athens.
Athens, Greece, October 26, 2026 -- Advanced Hair Clinics presented AlopeciAI, an artificial intelligence tool still in development for estimating future hair loss progression, at a workshop in Athens on September 8, 2026. Dr. Anastasios Vekris, the plastic surgeon who founded the clinic, introduced the tool.
Professionals from several countries attended the workshop in person and online to see the presentation of AlopeciAI. The tool is intended to produce estimates focused on a five- to ten-year period, with greater uncertainty for projections beyond that range. AlopeciAI is designed to support rather than replace medical assessment and is not intended to decide treatment. The final treatment choice remains with the doctor following clinical examination and discussion with the patient.
Separately from the tool presented at the workshop, Advanced Hair Clinics offers AI-assisted surgical planning that considers hairline design and graft allocation. Transplant planning more broadly accounts for donor-area potential, a patient's age, face shape, available grafts and the outcomes a patient is seeking. This planning stage precedes any procedure performed using the clinic's FUE hair transplant techniques, including its Unshaven FUE and Long Hair FUE methods, during which surgeons control the direction and angle of graft placement using dedicated instruments.
Assessment of hair loss involves a physical examination and a review of a patient's medical and family history, diet and hair-care routine. Depending on the findings, further investigation may include blood tests or a pull test. This individualized assessment informs treatment planning, whether through transplantation or non-surgical management. Hair transplantation at Advanced Hair Clinics remains a procedure performed by doctors.
Advanced Hair Clinics provides hair loss diagnosis, treatments and hair transplantation in Greece and Cyprus. Founded by plastic surgeon Dr. Anastasios Vekris, its medical teams perform hair, beard and eyebrow transplantation. The clinic offers individualized planning and FUE techniques, including Unshaven FUE and Long Hair FUE.

Police have busted a cybercrime ring that allegedly stole over 8 million pieces of personal information from dozens of businesses by using artificial intelligence (AI), officials said Monday. Seven suspects allegedly stole 8.2 million pieces of personal data and other internal records from over 90 entities, including hospitals, private academies and businesses, until recently from September last year, according to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. The group is suspected of using AI tools to hack 60 of the targets and attempting to extort some of them. Of the targeted entities, 38 suffered losses, with the group demanding a combined 360 million won ($272,000) from them. Police said the group's 32-year-old ring leader was referred to the prosecution on Friday while he was under physical detention. The other suspects are facing further questioning. The ringleader, a self-taught hacker, learned about hacking skills by working at a security company, where the suspect was in charge of mock hacking attacks. Authorities have recently been on alert over cybercrime suspected of employing AI tool
