People Forever Launches a Permanent, Collaborative Home for the People We Have Loved and Lost

Free-to-create “forever profiles” bring photos, videos, stories and voices together in one place where family and friends can preserve a loved one’s memory

Los Angeles, United States, October 19, 2026 -- People Forever, a US-based online memorial platform, has announced the public launch of its collaborative forever profiles. The platform gives families and friends a dedicated place to preserve and share the memories of people they have loved and lost.

Photos, videos and stories about a person are often scattered across different phones, photo albums and social media accounts. Other memories may be shared at a funeral or family gathering but never recorded. People Forever brings these pieces together in one profile that can continue growing as relatives, friends, former colleagues and community members contribute.

The platform is designed for everyone—not only public figures. Families can create profiles for parents, grandparents, friends, teachers, coaches, colleagues or anyone whose life they want to remember.

“Every profile on People Forever says the same thing: not forgotten,” said Daniel Mercer, Head of Community at People Forever. “We built it so that a bus driver who coached the under-12s gets the same care as a head of state, and so that the people who loved someone always have one place to go back to.”

How Forever Profiles Work

Creating a forever profile begins with a person’s name and date. Profiles are free to create and private by default, giving families control over who can access the page. They can later make the profile public if they want to share the person’s story more widely.

Profile creators can invite others by email or share a private link. Invited family members and friends can then contribute photos, videos, written tributes, personal stories and recordings of the person’s voice.

This collaborative approach allows people from different parts of someone’s life to contribute their own memories. A relative may share childhood photographs, while a former colleague adds a workplace story and a friend uploads a video from a significant occasion.

Visitors can return to the profile whenever they wish to remember the person. They can read previous tributes, view photographs, watch videos, listen to recordings and light a virtual candle in their memory.

Remembering Personal and Public Lives

At launch, People Forever hosts 504 forever profiles representing people from more than 30 countries. Users have lit 61,049 candles, shared 4,781 tributes and preserved 1,588 photographs through the platform.

Public profiles include recently deceased figures from music, sport, politics, science, journalism and the arts. The platform also features historical figures such as Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, Nelson Mandela and Freddie Mercury.

Alongside these recognisable names are profiles created to remember people whose influence was felt primarily within their families and local communities. People Forever’s position is that every life contains stories worth preserving, regardless of whether the person was internationally famous.

The platform also includes an A–Z directory of public profiles, memorial event pages for occasions when multiple lives were lost and a dedicated section where people can remember their pets.

Built Around Privacy and Shared Memories

People Forever says that privacy and family control are central to how the platform operates. Because profiles begin as private, families decide whether a memorial remains within an invited group or becomes publicly accessible.

The platform also states that it does not sell users’ personal data.

Where a profile allows visitors to give money to a family or make a charitable contribution, People Forever says the funds go to the selected family or charity. Applicable fees are displayed before a payment is completed.

The collaborative structure reflects the idea that grief and remembrance are rarely experienced by one person alone. Rather than leaving one family member responsible for building an entire memorial, People Forever allows several people to help create a fuller record of the life being remembered.

A Place to Return to

Digital photographs and videos can easily become difficult to locate when they remain stored across old devices, messaging apps and individual accounts. People Forever aims to give families one organised place where those materials can be collected and revisited.

A forever profile can begin with only a few details and develop over time as more people contribute. This allows families to create a memorial when they feel ready without needing to assemble every photograph or story at once.

People Forever is now publicly available, and creating a forever profile is free.

China’s Liaoning carrier and USS Theodore Roosevelt may be in Philippine Sea at same time

China’s Liaoning aircraft carrier strike group sailed beyond the first island chain last week to reach the southernmost waters of the Philippines, suggesting an intent to position itself closer to ongoing US-Japan joint exercises. Philippine news channel BNC reported that the carrier group reached about 25 nautical miles (46km) east-southeast of Balut Island, the southernmost point of the Philippines, before sailing northeast on Friday. That positioned the warships past the first island chain, a...

But it took blood tests, a biopsy and CAT scans before the Hongkonger, then...

How China’s regional leadership changes offer clues to the future of the Communist Party

China’s five-year leadership cycle is getting under way at a provincial level, with new teams being installed in a process that offers important clues to the future of the Communist Party at a national level. The meetings were held a week before a key party gathering in Beijing – known as the fifth plenum – that runs from...
