A newly announced service from Better Payment Solutions is offering small and medium-sized businesses a way to cut credit card processing fees.

Oswego, United States, October 15, 2026 /NewsNetwork/ -- Better Payment Solutions has announced credit card processing services for small and medium-sized businesses, led by a zero-fee processing program that removes the processing fees merchants pay on card sales. The services cover in-store, online, and hybrid businesses and include point-of-sale guidance, on-site training, and 24/7 live support.

The offering arrives as card acceptance costs reach new highs. U.S. merchants paid a record $198.25 billion in card processing fees in 2025, up 5.9 percent from 2024, according to Nilson Report data published by the Merchants Payments Coalition. The rules for recovering those costs are also shifting. In June 2026, a federal judge granted preliminary approval to a revised Visa and Mastercard settlement that would give merchants new rights to add surcharges and offer discounts for certain cards. Amidst this shifting market, Better Payment Solutions positions its program for businesses that want to address fees without waiting for that settlement to be finalized.
The new program is paired with a cash discount model, in which customers who pay with cash receive a discount, giving merchants a way to reduce the share of sales that carry processing fees while offering shoppers a price incentive. Rules for surcharges and cash discounts vary by state and by card network, explains Better Payment Solutions, so merchants should confirm the requirements for their location before changing how they price card and cash payments.
For businesses that sell in a store, online, or both, Better Payment Solutions provides payment solutions built to work with point-of-sale systems and e-commerce gateways, so transactions run smoothly wherever customers pay. The company's team advises on point-of-sale systems, provides on-site training, and offers live support around the clock so that businesses have the tools needed to adopt the program.
Better Payment Solutions reports that small businesses using its program save an average of about $7,500 a year, with some saving up to $100,000. However, actual savings depend on the unique card volume and pricing structure.

China is further narrowing access to a key government recruitment programme for overseas-educated graduates, limiting their pathways into the country’s civil service and party-state system. More than a dozen provincial-level regions, including Beijing and Shanghai, opened applications for the 2027 xuandiaosheng recruitment rounds in September and October. America’s push for 2027 combat readiness in the Indo-Pacific is raising questions over whether a year that US military officials linked to a possible People’s Liberation Army attack on Taiwan has instead become a planning benchmark. The preparations come despite a US intelligence assessment published in March that mainland Chinese leaders “do not currently plan” to attack Taiwan in 2027, “nor do they have a fixed timeline for achieving unification”. General Ronald Clark, commander of US Army...
